Trumpeter Allen Vizzutti has been reviewed as: “Beautiful…lyrical…stunning…stupefying. A Trumpet player supreme.” With performances in over 40 countries and every state, Allen is one of the most popular and dazzling artists of our time. Our night with Allen features several standard trumpet solos and his own Red Sun Concerto tied together with the pulsating “Short Ride In A Fast Machine” and the sparkling Capriccio Italien and La Valse. Experience a program for every musical taste!

La Boheme

La Boheme: The score for La Bohème comes to glowing life with the winning combination of our OSO and the Kentucky Opera. Kentucky Wesleyan Singers will join the chorus in Puccini’s masterwork. The story of La Boheme never ages, having been revisited in the Broadway hit “Rent” while the original is a staple on opera program worldwide. It takes a master’s hand to deliver high comedy, the depth of true love and great pathos in one score. Puccini gives us all in the grandest style you can imagine.

Holiday Pops

Our Holiday Pops continues to be the hit of the Owensboro Holiday Season! Bring your family to our family experience as the OSO combines with the Owensboro Symphony Chorus, the Newton Parrish Elementary Chorus, Sutton Elementary Chorus, Owensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra and Vocalist Ben Utecht (former member of the Super Bowl winning Indianapolis Colts) in a collection of holiday favorites old and new.

You can experience History in a way you have never enjoyed it before in February. With the Kentucky Premiere of Stephenson’s “Two Brothers” with actors Harry Anderson (best known for the role of Judge Harry Stone on the 1984-1992 television series Night Court) and Todd Reynolds, we will also enjoy the soundtrack from this year’s mega-hit movie “Lincoln” and two American classics: Barbers’ School for Scandal Overture and Dvorak Symphony No.9 “From the New World.”

Motown Hits Downtown

The Music of Motown has been moving our world for generations! We feature this great music in a new setting, our first-ever event in the new Owensboro Convention Center. Come and enjoy music that you, your children and their children can all sing along to. Hits such as: I Want You Back, Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours), I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Dancing In The Street, You Can't Hurry Love, Shop Around, Ain't No Mountain High Enough, and of course, Stop! In The Name Of Love.

Our Visions concert in April gives us the chance to include the photography and art of Owensboro in a way you have never experienced before. The OSO will delight your ears and eyes as we present Barry’s “Snapshot” with photography of Owensboro, two works by Debussy with guest artist Aaron Kizer creating his unique art on stage during the performance, the OSO Symphony Chorus in Vaughan Williams’ “Serenade to Music” and we end with the ultimate Romance of Hanson’s “Symphony No. 2.”
