Broadway Star Linda Eder Joins Symphony for Performance

OWENSBORO, KY – Troy Quinn and the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra will bring some Broadway flair to the city on Saturday evening, February 9, 2019 at 7:00 pm in Owensboro’s Cannon Hall. Linda Eder, who had a memorable star turn in the Broadway musical Jekyll & Hyde,  will join the orchestra for a cabaret-style performance.

Eder has been called one of the greatest contemporary voices of our time with a repertoire that spans Broadway, standards, pop, country and jazz. She has performed for sold-out crowds and venues across the country and throughout Europe. As the tragic character “Lucy” in the musical Jekyll & Hyde, Eder is said to have blown the roof off of the Broadway theatre each night for over two years as she belted out signature songs Someone Like You and A New Life.

Since leaving Broadway, she has established herself as a popular and accomplished interpreter of pop standards and theatrical songs. Her recording career launched in 1991 has moved full steam ahead with her discography to date being comprised of 17 solo recordings. Additional information regarding Eder can be found at LindaEder.com

“Simply put, Linda Eder is one of the greatest living vocalists,” said Troy Quinn. “To hear her live with our Owensboro Symphony will be a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Eder’s Owensboro performance will include Barbra Streisand tunes, Marvin Hamlisch’s  Looking Through the Eyes of Love from Ice Castles, along with such Broadway favorites from Hello DollyThe Sound of Music, Man of La Mancha, Carousel and, of course, some songs from Jekyll & Hyde.

“This performance has sparked lots of interest from across the region.” says Gwyn Payne, General Manager of the Owensboro Symphony.  “To accommodate our out of town guests we have partnered with the Hampton Inn to offer a special weekend deal.” For $180 you get an overnight stay along with two tickets to the concert.
