Symphony Reveals Plans for Quinn’s Third Season

OWENSBORO, KY –  The Owensboro Symphony has announced plans for Troy Quinn’s third season as Music Director of the Owensboro Symphony, of which was to have been his last under his inaugural contract. “It’s only just the beginning,” said Symphony CEO G. Dan Griffith. “Troy’s original contract would have ended after the upcoming 2019-2020 season, but the community and the Symphony were so thrilled by his first season that we immediately extended his first contract for three additional years. That is an unusual occurrence to see happen after a new conductor’s first year on the podium. Troy, however, is phenomenal and has so much to offer our organization and community. We certainly did not want to slow the momentum after his third season.” The Symphony has seen tremendous growth in ticket revenue since Quinn was hired and the average attendance at Symphony events has more than doubled in the last five years.

The excitement and fun will continue during the upcoming 2019-2020 season. “It’s a thrill to introduce the 2019-2020 season,” said Quinn. “We will continue celebrating the best in classical, film, and popular music – our concerts are always a stirring mix of adventurous projects that invigorate our minds and traditional favorites that warm our collective hearts. Through this programming we hold true to our organizational mission of creating meaningful, imaginative performances that enrich lives and create memorable experiences for Owensboro and our surrounding communities.”
