Free Community Concert!! US Bank Presents Concert on the Lawn – Sports Orchestrated

OWENSBORO, KY –  Continuing a beloved tradition of bringing great live music into the local community, the Owensboro Symphony will present its 32nd annual US BANK Concert on the Lawn on Saturday evening, August 17, 2019 at 7:00 pm on the front lawn of Kentucky Wesleyan College, 3000 Frederica Street. Picnicking and Family Activities begin at 5:30 p.m.

Troy Quinn and the orchestra will present a program entitled Sports Orchestrated. Come celebrate the best in sports music as the orchestra plays all the favorites from the National Anthem to Chariots of Fire, Themes from the NFL and NBA and more. “Works from great movies promise to have you dancing on the lawn as we present this program of sports finest music,” said Troy Quinn.

 

Pack a Picnic

The community is encouraged to pack a picnic, put on comfortable clothes, grab their lawn chairs and blankets and head to the front lawn of Kentucky Wesleyan College for this FREE community event.  “It’s an awesome evening to connect with family, friends and neighbors as picnic blankets and chairs are assembled for a stirring concert by Owensboro’s own symphony orchestra,”  said Symphony CEO, Dan Griffith. “It’s a great place to celebrate the end of summer!”

 

Not in the Mood to Pack a Picnic?

For those who would rather come and enjoy the performance without having to pack a picnic, tables and dinners can be reserved by calling 270-684-0661, extension 111. Table, chairs and dinner for 8 people can be reserved for $275. A table and eight chairs only can be reserved for $125.  Individual meals (no seating) can be reserved for $20 a person. The reserved meal will include Bourbon Glazed Pork Tenderloin, Home-style Vegetables, Fruit Cobblers and Tea/Lemonade. Meals will not be for sale on the night of the event – they must be purchased in advance. Reservations must be in by August 12.

 

JOIN THE FUN…Decorate Your Table!

Those who reserve tables often participate in the table decorating contest. Those who do participate are encouraged to decorate their tables reflecting the evening’s theme – “A Salute to Sports”.  A winner will be chosen to receive a gift basket from the Symphony.
