Symphony Celebrates Summer with Outdoor Concert

March 19, 2021 – The Owensboro Symphony is set to make music together again with a live outdoor concert on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 7 p.m.  The Symphony’s Summer Salute will feature Grammy Award-winning Lee Greenwood with Troy Quinn and the full orchestra. Greenwood is best known for his patriotic anthem “God Bless the USA,” voted the most recognizable patriotic song in America. “I am thrilled to have the orchestra together again performing with this country music legend.” said Quinn, Music Director/Conductor.

Summer Salute will celebrate our community and the leaders that have worked so diligently to guide us through such an unprecedented time. The event has been designed to conform to social distancing guidelines in a beautiful outdoor setting. Patrons will enjoy an evening with the Symphony on McConnell Plaza, a hidden jewel on the Owensboro Riverfront.  The concert will be free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to relax on the Plaza. Food trucks will be on site and there will be an opportunity for reserved pod seating.

“It’s going to be an awesome evening to connect with family and friends for an uplifting concert,”  said Symphony CEO, Gwyn Payne. “After this past year, we are all ready to get together and enjoy some great music!”
